The ASCENT Series represents Benchmade's lightweight offering, but don't let that fool you - these knives are anything but.  For starters, the blades are of the same high-grade steels found in the rest of the Benchmade line which makes certain you won't be compromising any blade performance just because you choose a "lightweight".  It is important to note that Benchmade uses an oversized pivot-screw that not only provides a much stronger anchor point, but it is completely adjustable as well, so you can set the blade "drag" to your preference. 

The ergonomically designed handles are molded of Zytel and feature a unique texturing style that is grippable even when wet.  Locking mechanisms are of the lock-back variety, and they are engineered for lasting, solid function. 

These knives feature steel carry-clips secured into stainless steel inserts which are molded directly into the handle material.  All carry-clips are removable and even movable on some models.  There are two blade styles to choose from in the ASCENT Series.  The 820, 830 and Model 840 have a "pointier" clip-point blade style and feature an ambidextrous open-hole for blade function.  The 825, 835 and Model 845 have a more "radiused" drop-point blade design, and feature dual thumb-stud openers for single-handed function.
